Getting Started

What is MyMissionLetters?

MyMissionLetters saves every email, photo, and PDF from your Latter-day Saint missionary's mission — and, if you want, shares them with family and friends. Choose a plan: the Digital Memory Book ($50) delivers a personalized PDF of the whole mission, and the Hardcover Memory Book ($100) delivers a printed hardcover keepsake (up to 700 pages) shipped to your door. Add the Pro List add-on ($30) and your missionary's weekly email reaches everyone on your list automatically — and is saved to your archive at the same time. See how it works →

When should I sign up — before or after my missionary leaves?

As soon as your missionary has their @missionary.org email address — usually a few weeks before the MTC. Set up early and every email is captured from day one; with the Pro List add-on, your join link is ready to share before the farewell. Signing up after the call but before departure is the sweet spot: everything's in place, without the last-minute scramble.

How much does MyMissionLetters cost?

One-time, no subscriptions. The Digital Memory Book is $50 and the Hardcover Memory Book is $100 — both include the Mission Archive, and Hardcover adds a printed hardcover (one volume, one copy, up to 700 pages) shipped to you when the mission ends. Want a managed email list too? Add Standard List ($15) or the Pro List add-on ($30). Every payment covers the life of the list — up to 3.5 years, longer than any standard mission — and each missionary you add picks their own plan.

What's the difference between the Digital and Hardcover plans?

Both include the same Mission Archive — forward your emails in, and upload photos and PDFs from anywhere — and both end in a personalized Memory Book. The difference is the keepsake: Digital ($50) is a downloadable PDF, and Hardcover ($100) is a printed hardcover (up to 700 pages) shipped to you, with no separate PDF. Want both? Add the Digital Book alongside Hardcover.

What does the Pro List add-on do?

Pro List ($30) turns your missionary's weekly email into an effortless broadcast. Family and friends join by QR code, link, Story image, or printable flyer; your missionary emails one address, and we deliver it to everyone (up to 1,000), handle bounces and unsubscribes, and save a copy to your archive. It also unlocks the Share page and approved senders. Add it at signup or anytime from your Account page.

What's the difference between Standard List and Pro List?

Both give you a managed list of family and friends who join by link or QR code. The difference is how updates go out. Pro List ($30) is fully automated — your missionary emails one address and everyone gets it, archived automatically. Standard List ($15) has no automated broadcast: you copy your list and send from your own inbox, and it doesn't include approved senders or Direct-Archive. Pick one — a Standard list can upgrade to Pro for +$15 anytime. Learn about Standard List →

What is the Memory Book?

Included with every plan. When the mission ends, everything in your Mission Archive — emails, photos, PDFs, social posts, and broadcasts — is bundled into a beautifully formatted keepsake with a personalized cover and message page. Digital ($50) delivers a PDF; Hardcover ($100) delivers a printed hardcover (up to 700 pages) shipped to you. Either way, it's the whole journey in one place, ready to keep forever.

Can I order a Hardcover Book?

Yes. The Hardcover Memory Book gathers every email, photo, file, and social post your missionary sent home into one professionally printed hardcover (up to 700 pages per volume) with a personalized cover. Pick your size — the classic 6 × 9 or the larger 7.44 × 9.68 — and your finish: Standard ($100 / $115) prints great text on everyday uncoated paper, while Premium ($230 / $260) upgrades to heavier coated paper for sharp, vivid photos — and at 6 × 9 wraps the book in real linen with a gold-foil spine and printed dust jacket. The Hardcover Memory Book plan ($100) credits the full price of the Standard 6 × 9 toward whichever version you choose — so your included book is free at Standard 6 × 9, or just the difference (+$15 to +$160) to upgrade. Most books arrive in under 2 weeks. Learn more about Missionary Hardcover Books →

Can I order a Photo Book?

Yes. The Photo Book is a separate keepsake built around the photos your missionary sent home — every image in a beautifully formatted hardcover album at our larger 7 × 10 Executive size, where photos render bigger. Choose Standard ($125) or Premium ($250), which prints on heavier coated paper for the richest color. On the Hardcover Memory Book plan your $100 book credit applies, making a Standard Photo Book a $25 upgrade as your included book (+$150 for Premium). Prefer it digital? A photos-only Digital Photo Book is available too ($50, or included if your plan already includes the Digital Book). Most books arrive in under 2 weeks. Learn more about Missionary Photo Books →

Is there a trial or refund window?

30-day money-back guarantee. Change your mind within 30 days of payment and request a refund from Account → Cancel a Missionary List — as long as you haven't generated your Digital Memory Book or placed a paid print order yet (the free print proof doesn't count). After 30 days, payments are non-refundable, but your list and everything in it keep working for its full life.

Are there any recurring or hidden fees?

None. Every payment is one-time and covers the life of the list (up to 3.5 years) — no monthly fees, no per-broadcast fees, no per-member fees. Digital is $50, Hardcover $100, and an optional email list is $15 (Standard List) or $30 (Pro List add-on).

How long does setup take?

About five minutes. Sign up, enter your missionary's name and @missionary.org address, choose your plan, and you're done — your archive addresses are ready immediately, and with Pro List so are your broadcast address, join link, and QR code. Best done before your missionary leaves, so everything's ready for their first email home.

Does my missionary need to do anything differently?

Almost nothing. They write their weekly email as usual and CC (or BCC) your Forward-to-Archive address, so every one lands in your archive automatically. With the Pro List add-on, they send to your broadcast address instead and we fan it out to the whole list while saving a copy. Same email they were already going to write — no app, no account. Most are up and running after one send.

Do list members need to create an account?

No. They click your join link, enter their email, and they're on the list — no account, no password, no app.

Do I need to confirm my email when I sign up?

No — your account is active the moment you sign up. With the Pro List add-on you're added to your own list automatically, so you'll get broadcasts from your missionary's very first send.

Can I get discounts and product news by email?

Yes. At the bottom of our home page, enter your email in the newsletter signup and confirm the link we send you. We'll occasionally share discounts and new products, and you can unsubscribe anytime. It's separate from missionary updates — it won't add you to anyone's list.

Sending Broadcasts (Pro List add-on)

Why not just use BCC or a group email?

BCC and group emails can work, but they wear thin over an 18–24 month mission: providers flag mass BCCs as spam, bounced addresses pile up unnoticed, and you're forever updating a list that's already out of date. The Pro List add-on handles delivery, bounces, and departures for you — and saves every email next to your photos and PDFs, so the mission ends with a complete record instead of scattered messages in your sent folder. Even without it, the archive and Memory Book come with every plan.

How do people find my join link?

Your join link, QR code, personalized Story image, and printable sign all live on the Share page. Use the built-in Text or Email buttons, share straight to Facebook, post a Story to Instagram or Facebook, or set out a printed sign at the farewell — anyone who clicks or scans joins in seconds.

Can I share a personalized image to my Instagram or Facebook Story?

Yes. The Share page creates a Story image — sized for Instagram and Facebook — with your missionary's name and QR code. On mobile, tap Instagram or Facebook to send it straight to the app; on desktop it downloads so you can post it yourself. Pick a light or dark version with the toggle.

Can I make a printable sign for a farewell or church display?

Yes. The Share page downloads a personalized 8.5×11 sign at full print quality, with your missionary's name and QR code — anyone who scans it can join instantly. Choose light or dark, then click Download Custom Flyer.

How does my missionary send an email to the list?

They email your broadcast address from their authorized @missionary.org address. Images, links, and formatting all intact, it reaches every list member within seconds — nothing extra to do on their end. One requirement: every broadcast needs a subject line — an email sent with a blank subject is bounced back with a reminder rather than delivered, so your list never receives a "(no subject)" update.

What email address does my missionary send from?

The @missionary.org address you enter at signup — automatically authorized. Emails from any other address are rejected, keeping your list safe from unauthorized sends.

Can someone else — like a parent — also send updates?

Yes. Your email is always authorized, and you can approve up to three more senders — a parent, a companion — from the Approved Senders page. Their emails reach the whole list just like the missionary's, and anything they forward lands in your archive. Handy when the missionary's unavailable or between weekly emails.

Will images and formatting come through correctly?

Yes. HTML emails — images, links, bold text, formatting — are fully supported, and plain text works too. List members receive exactly what your missionary sent.

Do emojis and other languages come through in the archive and book?

Yes to both. Emojis 😊🌍🙏 are preserved wherever your missionary uses them — in your archive, in broadcasts, and in the finished book. So is every language: accented Latin scripts like Spanish, Portuguese, French, and German, plus Chinese, Japanese, Korean, Russian and other Cyrillic, Greek, Arabic, and Hebrew. Whether a whole email is in another language or just a few words, it's captured exactly and typeset faithfully.

Is there a limit on how often I can send?

No cap — most missionaries send once a week. One nuance: if two broadcasts arrive within about 6 hours, we automatically space them at least 6 hours apart (the second is held briefly, and the sender gets a quick heads-up). It protects your list's deliverability, and nothing is lost.

Which email clients work?

All of them — Gmail, Outlook, Apple Mail, and more. As long as your missionary sends from their authorized address to the broadcast address, it reaches the whole list.

Archive & Forwarded Emails

What kinds of emails can I add to my archive?

Every plan has a Forward-to-Archive address (prefix forward-) for forwarding emails in; the Pro List add-on adds a Direct-Archive address (prefix direct-) for CC-ing on emails you're writing. You, your missionary, or any approved sender can use either — entries land at their original send date, alongside your broadcasts. Great for:
  • Past updates your missionary sent — pre-mission notes, MTC weeks, farewell letters, anything from before the list existed.
  • Meaningful emails they received — from a mission president, friends, or family.
  • Anything else mission-related worth keeping in one place.
Archived emails only go to your archive, never to list members.

Can someone else forward emails into my archive?

Yes — on every plan. From the Approved Senders page, approve up to three trusted people beyond you and your missionary. Anything they forward to your Forward-to-Archive address lands in your archive, attributed to the original sender — with no access to your account.

Can I add an email my missionary received from someone else?

Yes. If your missionary received a meaningful email — from a mission leader, a friend, a relative — you, your missionary, or any approved sender can forward it to your Forward-to-Archive address. The archive shows the original sender, with a small "Forwarded by…" line noting who added it. Perfect for correspondence they received but didn't write.

What if I forgot to include attachments when forwarding?

Just re-forward the email with the attachments included — the archive keeps only the most recent forward, so it replaces the earlier one. Heads-up: many email clients drop attachments when you hit Forward, so double-check before sending.

Why doesn't my forwarded email's sender match what I see in my inbox?

We read the original sender from the forwarded message-history block. Email clients format forwards differently, so if ours can't parse yours, we still archive the email — just attributed to you — and send a heads-up. Reply to it or contact support if a forward wasn't parsed right; it helps us improve.

Where does my forwarded email appear in the archive list?

At its original send date, not the day you forwarded it — so a 2024 email forwarded today lands among your other 2024 entries, newest first. If we couldn't read the original date, the row drops to the bottom.

I sent a new email to one of my archive addresses — was it archived?

Yes — a non-forwarded email to either address is saved as your own update, with you as the sender. Direct-Archive is built for this; Forward-to-Archive accepts it too. Empty-body emails bounce, so resend with content.

Can I keep using my own email tool and still get my updates archived?

Yes — with the Pro List add-on. Just add your Direct-Archive address (the direct- one) to the recipients — To, CC, or BCC — when you send. Your update reaches everyone exactly as written, and a copy lands in your archive automatically, visible only inside MyMissionLetters. No separate forwarding step.

I forwarded an email to my Forward-to-Archive address but got a bounce notice saying an original already exists — what happened?

An earlier copy is already in your archive — either you CC'd your Direct-Archive address, or you sent it as a broadcast. That original carries cleaner sender, date, and subject info than a forward can, so we keep it and discard the forward. To replace it, delete the existing entry first, then re-forward.

Can I upload photos to my archive?

Yes — on every plan. Use the Upload Photos page (linked from your Mission Archive) to add photos from companions, family, senior couples — anywhere they arrive outside email. Pick a date for each batch so they land in the right spot on the timeline. Rotate and reorder them anytime, and they're included in your Memory Book.

Can I upload PDFs to my archive?

Yes — on every plan. Use the Upload Files page (linked from your Mission Archive) for mission newsletters, transfer notices, conference assignments — any PDF worth keeping alongside the emails. Each one is spliced right into your Memory Book.

Can I include handwritten or mailed letters?

Yes — on every plan. Scan the letter (or snap a clear photo) and add it from your Mission Archive: upload a multi-page letter as a single PDF on the Upload Files page, or add a single page through Upload Photos. Pick the date it was written and each handwritten or mailed letter lands on your timeline in order, bound right into your Memory Book alongside the emails.

Can I add social media posts to my archive?

Yes — on every plan. From your Mission Archive, click Add Social Post, screenshot the post (Instagram, Facebook, anywhere), and upload it with a date, title, and platform. Multiple photos? Add them alongside the screenshot — the first renders larger in your book. Each post gets its own row.

Can I add or remove attachments on an email already in my archive?

Yes. Open the email from your Mission Archive (click the subject) and add or remove attachments right on its page — handy for catching a photo you missed or swapping in the right files.

Managing List Members (Pro List add-on)

What if I already have a list of email addresses I've been collecting?

Bring it right over. From the Email List page, upload a CSV or paste a comma-separated list, and everyone's added at once. No starting from scratch.

Can I add list members manually?

Yes — one at a time, as a comma-separated list, or by CSV upload. You choose whether each new member gets a welcome email.

Can my missionary manage the list by email?

Yes — this one's built for your missionary. Every list has a manage-by-email address (it starts with list-) they can email to manage members, no login needed. Put a command in the subject or body: add then one or more addresses, remove then an address, view list to get the full list back, or help for instructions. They'll get a reply confirming exactly what changed.

Is there a list member limit?

Each list holds up to 1,000 members. Need more? Contact us and we'll help.

Can list members leave the list on their own?

Yes. Every broadcast has a leave link at the bottom, and most mail clients (Gmail, Outlook, Apple Mail) show a built-in Unsubscribe option too — either one removes them instantly, no action from you. You can also remove anyone from the Email List page.

Multiple Missionaries

Can I manage more than one missionary from a single account?

Yes. Add more missionaries from your Account page once you're logged in. Each gets their own Mission Archive (and broadcast address, with Pro List) under one login. Each missionary picks their own plan — Digital ($50) or Hardcover ($100), Pro List ($30) optional — so you can mix, say, Hardcover for one still serving and Digital for one just home. A quick-switcher in the nav bar moves you between them.

Are each missionary's list members kept separate?

Completely. Every missionary has their own independent list, and members receive only that missionary's broadcasts. Someone who wants updates on two missionaries joins each list separately.

Senior Couples

What about senior couples?

Senior couples serving together share one list. On your Account page, check This is a senior couple and add the second missionary's @missionary.org address — both are then authorized to send, so with the Pro List add-on either spouse can email the one broadcast address. Same pricing as any list, with no separate charge for the second missionary; you pick the plan together.

Missionary Login Access

Can my missionary log into the account directly?

Yes. Invite your missionary and, once they accept, they can log in and manage their own list without going through you.

What can my missionary do once they're logged in?

View their broadcast address, check their Mission Archive, manage members, and share their join link — everything to run their own list. Account-level settings stay with you.

Payment & Security

What payment methods do you accept?

All major credit and debit cards through Stripe, plus Apple Pay and Google Pay on supported devices. The payment form is built right into signup — no separate checkout to redirect to. Some cards add a quick 3D Secure step from your bank, handled automatically before the payment completes.

Can I use a promo or discount code?

Yes. Enter it in the Have a promotional code? field on the sign-up form and the discount comes off before you pay. Codes apply once, at sign-up.

Is my payment information secure?

Yes. Card details go straight into Stripe's secure form and never touch our servers — we never see or store your card number. Stripe processes payments for millions of businesses at the industry's highest security standards.

How long does my list last?

Up to 3.5 years from payment — the longest standard mission, with room to spare. You can cancel sooner if you're done.

Cancellation & Refunds

Can I cancel my account?

Yes. Within 30 days of payment you can request cancellation for a full refund — as long as you haven't generated your Digital Memory Book or placed a paid print order yet (the free print proof doesn't count). Submit the request from Account → Cancel a Missionary List (add a reason if you like); support reviews it, usually within one business day, and your list stays active until it's approved. After that, or after 30 days, you can still close your account anytime from Account → Delete Account — payments past 30 days are non-refundable.

How do I get a refund?

Within the 30-day window (and before you've generated your Digital Memory Book or placed a paid print order — the free proof doesn't count), go to Account → Cancel a Missionary List and submit a request. You'll see your refund amount up front and can add a reason. Support reviews it, usually within one business day; once approved, the refund goes to your original payment method and typically lands in 5–10 business days. Your list stays active until then, and you can withdraw anytime. Refunds cover every payment still inside its own 30-day window — so a plan plus a later Pro List add-on, both within 30 days, refund together.

What happens after the 30-day window?

Your payment becomes non-refundable, but your list keeps working — no further charges, ever. You can still delete your account anytime from the Account page.
