Getting Started
How does MyMissionLetters work?
Everything lives in your Mission Archive — one timeline holding your missionary's emails, photos, PDFs, and social posts. You build it by putting your Save-to-Archive address in Bcc on letters you write, forwarding emails you've received to it, uploading photos and PDFs, and importing social posts. With the Pro Email List you also get a unique broadcast address — your missionary emails it once and we deliver to your whole list, saving a copy automatically. When the mission ends, the archive becomes your personalized Memory Book: a PDF on the Digital plan, or a printed hardcover (up to 700 pages) on the Hardcover plan. See how it works →
Where do I go to add things to my archive?
The Add Content page (reached from your Dashboard or your Mission Archive header) is your one-stop hub — your Save-to-Archive address, a link to Approved Senders, buttons to Upload Photos and Upload Files, and the Import Social Posts card (Import from Facebook / Import from Instagram). The same upload buttons also sit in the header of your Mission Archive, so you can add content from either page.
Can I add social media posts to my Mission Archive?
Yes. Click Import Social Posts in your Mission Archive header (or open the Import Social Posts card on Add Content), then Import from Facebook or Import from Instagram, and follow the steps to export your information and drop it in. Choose the years and months you want; each post lands at its date, with its words and photos, and multiple posts on the same day stay separate. The download has to come from the account that posted them, so a missionary's own posts are imported from their own login. Posts from another app: save their photos and add them with Upload Photos.
Sending Broadcasts
Broadcasting requires Pro Email List. Plans without Pro Email List skip this section.
How do I send my first broadcast?
Share your broadcast address with your missionary and have them send their next email to it from their approved @missionary.org address. That's it — MyMissionLetters handles delivery to your entire list. Your broadcast address is always shown on your Email List page.
Can I preview what a broadcast will look like before sending it for real?
Yes. Every list has a test broadcast address (visible on your Email List page). Send any email to it from an approved address and we'll process it like a real broadcast — same image inlining, attachments, and archive layout — then deliver the fully-rendered result only to you. Your list members get nothing, and nothing lands in your Mission Archive. Useful for previewing formatting before a big update or for testing whether attachments come through properly.
Where do I find my broadcast address and join link?
Your broadcast address is on your Email List page — it's the email your missionary sends to. For everything else — your join link, QR code, personalized Story images, and printable sign — go to the Share page.
How do I get people to join?
From the Share page, use the built-in Text or Email buttons to send a pre-written invite, or tap Share to post straight to Facebook. You can also share a personalized Story image or download a print-quality 8.5×11 sign — both carry your missionary's name and QR code. Perfect for farewells, sacrament programs, or social media. Anyone who clicks or scans joins with just their email — no account required.
Can I share a personalized image to my Instagram or Facebook Story?
Yes — the Share page generates a personalized Story image sized for Instagram and Facebook, featuring your missionary's name and QR code. On mobile, tap Instagram or Facebook on the share button to send it directly to your app. On desktop, the image downloads automatically so you can upload it yourself. Toggle between a light or dark version before sharing. For a regular post, use the feed-post image instead: it has no QR code and tells friends the sign-up link is in the first comment. Tap Copy link for comment, then paste your join link as the first comment after you post.
Can I make a printable sign for a farewell or church display?
Yes. From the Share page, click Download Custom Flyer to get a personalized 8.5×11 sign at full print quality, with your missionary's name and QR code. Anyone who scans the code can join instantly. Toggle between a light or dark version before downloading. For the missionary plaque at church, Download Plaque Card gives you a 2×5 card with the same QR code to print and cut out.
Can I add list members myself instead of having them join?
Yes. From the Email List page you can add list members one at a time, paste in a comma-separated list, or upload a CSV file. You can choose whether to send each new list member a welcome notification when they're added.
Can my missionary manage the list by email?
Yes — this is built for your missionary. Every list has a manage-by-email address (it starts with list-) that your missionary can email to manage members — no account or website access needed. Put the word Manage in the subject line, then a command in the body: add followed by one or more email addresses, remove followed by an address, full to get the full member list emailed back, or help for instructions. One command per email. They'll get a reply confirming exactly what changed.
Who is approved to send broadcasts?
Your account email and your missionary's @missionary.org address(es) are approved by default. From the Approved Senders page you can add up to five more — parents or a companion. Their emails reach your whole list, and anything they forward lands in your archive. Emails from any other address are automatically rejected, and the sender is notified.
What happens if my missionary sends from an address that isn't approved?
The email is rejected — it won't be forwarded to your list. The sender will receive an automatic notification letting them know. Make sure your missionary is sending from the exact @missionary.org address shown on your Account page. If the address has changed, update it there and broadcasts will resume.
How do I add an additional approved sender?
Open the Approved Senders page — linked from your Email List and Add Content pages — and enter their email address. They'll get a welcome email showing how to send: their emails to the broadcast address go to your whole list, and emails they forward land in your Mission Archive. Up to five approved senders beyond your account email and missionary address(es) are supported.
Does the subject line matter?
Yes — whatever subject your missionary writes is what list members see. A clear, consistent format like "Elder Smith — Week 14" makes emails easy to find and recognize in the inbox. A subject is also required: if your missionary sends without one, it's bounced back with a reminder rather than delivered, so your list never gets a blank "(no subject)" update.
Will images and formatting come through correctly?
Yes. HTML emails with images, links, bold text, and other formatting are fully supported. Plain text emails work fine too.
Is there a size limit on broadcasts and attachments?
Each broadcast is capped at 24MB total — that's everything combined: the email body, embedded images, and any attached files. We set the cap just below the email transport limit so an oversized broadcast gets a clear, helpful bounce-back email from us — one that explains that embedded images count toward the total — instead of a cryptic error from the mail system. If a broadcast is over the limit, the sender simply reduces attachment sizes and re-sends.
Are any attachment types blocked?
For safety, we block file types commonly used to carry malware — programs and installers (
.exe, .msi), shell scripts (.sh, .bat), Java archives (.jar), web/HTML files (.html), and code scripts like .js, .py, .pl, and .rb. Photos, PDFs, Word/Excel/PowerPoint files, audio, and video all work normally. If a single attachment is blocked, the sender gets a bounce-back email naming the file so the missionary can resend without it.Is there a limit on how often broadcasts can be sent?
There's no cap on how many broadcasts you can send — most missionaries send once a week. One nuance: if two broadcasts arrive within about 6 hours of each other, MyMissionLetters automatically spaces them at least 6 hours apart — the second is held briefly and delivered a little later, and the sender gets a quick note that it's queued. This protects your list's deliverability; nothing is lost.
Where can I see my past broadcasts?
Open the Mission Archive page. Every broadcast we've received for your list is shown there — date, subject, who sent it, recipient count, and whether delivery succeeded. The view always reflects the missionary you currently have selected.
How do I scan and navigate the Mission Archive?
The Mission Archive shows one row per entry — emails, photo groups, PDFs, and social posts in date order. The Type column color-codes each row for quick scanning: Email blue, Photos green, PDF amber, Social Post purple. Click any row's subject or title to open its management page, where downloads, deletions, attachments, and edits live. On multi-missionary accounts, the view follows whichever missionary you've selected in the nav-bar switcher.
Can I reorder entries within the same day in Mission Archive?
Yes. Click Reorder at the bottom of the Mission Archive (visible when at least one day has 2+ entries). Use the ▲ / ▼ arrows on each row to move it earlier or later within its own day; cross-day moves aren't supported (entries stay on their original date). Click Save when done. The order you save here is the order entries appear in your printed Memory Book.
Why does Mission Archive show old entries first sometimes and newest first other times?
A toggle at the bottom of the Mission Archive controls day order. Book Printing Order (checked) shows the earliest day first — the order a printed book reads. Unchecked shows the most recent day first, like a newsfeed. Within each day, entries keep the order you set with Reorder. Pro Email List accounts default to newest-first, non-broadcasting accounts to book-order, and your choice is remembered per list.
How do I download a past broadcast as a PDF?
Open the Mission Archive, click the broadcast's subject, then click Download at the top. You'll get a PDF — or a ZIP with the PDF plus an attachments folder if there were any. PDFs generate a moment after sending, so a very recent broadcast may show "Saving in progress…" — give it a minute and refresh. Photos and uploaded PDFs have their own Download buttons on their management pages.
Do I get a confirmation email when a broadcast is sent?
Yes. After every successful broadcast, the sender receives a confirmation email with the subject line, recipient count, send time, and a reminder of where to find it in your Mission Archive. The same confirmation also fires for entries added via your Save-to-Archive address. If something prevented delivery or archiving, you'll get a different email explaining what happened (see the Troubleshooting section).
How do I delete a broadcast from my Mission Archive?
Open the Mission Archive, click the broadcast's subject to open its per-email page, and use the Delete option there. Deleting an entry removes the saved copy and its attachments — the broadcast itself was already delivered to list members and can't be unsent. Deletion is permanent.
Archive & Forwarded Emails
Adding emails to your archive
What kinds of emails can I add to my archive?
Your list has one archive address, shown on your Add Content page: Save-to-Archive (prefix
save-). Put it in Bcc on letters you write, or forward emails you've received to it. You, your missionary, or any approved sender can use it — entries land at their original send date, alongside your broadcasts. Great for:
- Past updates your missionary sent — pre-mission emails, MTC weeks, farewell letters, anything from before the list existed.
- Meaningful emails they received — from a mission president, friends, or family.
- Anything else mission-related worth keeping in one place.
Will emojis and other languages show up correctly in my archive and book?
Yes to both. Emojis 😊🌍🙏 are preserved wherever your missionary uses them — in your Mission Archive, in broadcasts, and in the finished book. So is every language: accented Latin scripts (Spanish, Portuguese, French, German) plus Chinese, Japanese, Korean, Russian and other Cyrillic, Greek, Arabic, and Hebrew. Whether a whole email is in another language or just a few words, it's captured exactly and typeset faithfully.
Can I add an email my missionary received from someone else?
Yes. If your missionary received a meaningful email from someone else — a mission leader, a friend, a relative — you, your missionary, or any approved sender can forward it to your Save-to-Archive address. The archive will show the original sender's name and email, with a small "Forwarded by..." line recording who added it. Useful for preserving correspondence the missionary received but didn't write.
Can I let someone else forward emails into my archive?
Yes — with every product. Add their email to the Approved Senders page (linked from your Add Content and Email List pages). Once approved, emails they forward to your Save-to-Archive address land in your Mission Archive, attributed to the original sender. (They can also put that address in Bcc on letters they write.) You can approve up to five people beyond yourself and your missionary, and remove them anytime — they never get access to your account.
Can I send a personal email and have it archived automatically?
Yes. When you send an email from your usual mail client (Gmail, Apple Mail, Outlook, etc.), put your Save-to-Archive address in the Bcc field. Your normal recipients receive the email as you sent it; we receive a copy at the Save-to-Archive address and add it to your Mission Archive automatically — listed at the time you sent it, with you as the sender. No forwarding step required. Anyone approved to send (the account owner, the missionary, the additional sender) can use this flow. To or CC also works, but then anyone who hits Reply All sends their reply to your archive too. If you send with mail merge or multi-send, put it in To instead.
I sent a new email to my archive address — was it archived?
Yes — an email you write and send to your Save-to-Archive address is saved as your own email update, with you (the sender) listed as the original author. A forward (subject starts with "Fwd:") is archived under the original sender's name instead, dated to the original send date. Empty-body emails are bounced — re-send with content.
Where does my forwarded email appear in the archive list?
At its original send date, not the date you forwarded it. A 2024 email forwarded today lands among other 2024 entries in the list — sorted by original date, newest first. If our parser couldn't extract the original date, the row sinks to the bottom of the list.
Troubleshooting archive uploads
What if I forgot to include attachments when forwarding?
Forward the same email again with the attachments included. Your archive automatically replaces the prior entry, so you'll end up with one row that has the attachments. Most mail clients drop attachments when forwarding — open the forward in your drafts/outbox and check before sending.
Why doesn't my forwarded email's sender match what I see in my inbox?
We parse the original sender from the forwarded message-history block. Different email clients format forwards differently — if our parser can't detect the format, we fall back to archiving it under the forwarder's identity (you) and send a heads-up email saying so. Reply to the heads-up notice or contact support if you have a confirmed forward that wasn't parsed correctly; it helps us improve format detection.
What are the "About this archive" warnings in my confirmation emails?
When we process a forward, we sometimes have to substitute a piece of metadata — say, using the email's Sender: header when From: is empty, or defaulting the date when none is readable. The confirmation email lists each substitution in an "About this archive" section: the field, what we used, and why. It's informational only — your entry is intact and downloadable. If a warning points to a forwarding problem, the heads-up tells you how to re-forward cleanly.
I made a mistake — can I edit an email that's already in my archive?
Yes — re-forwarding is how you edit. Find the original email in your inbox, click Forward, make your changes to the message content, and send it to your Save-to-Archive address. The archive keeps only the newest version, so your edited copy replaces the earlier entry. Leave the forwarded header lines (From, Date, Subject) as they are — we use them to match the entry being replaced; changing the subject creates a separate new entry instead (if that happens, just delete the one you don't want from your archive). For a broadcast, list members already received the original email — this updates only your archived copy and what appears in your Memory Book.
Can I add or remove attachments on an email already in my archive?
Yes. Open the email from your Mission Archive (click the subject), then add or remove attachments directly on the per-email page. Useful for catching photos or files that were missed the first time, or replacing the archived copy when you re-forward with the right attachments. The original broadcast that went to list members can't be changed — only the archived copy.
Photos & PDFs in the Archive
How do I upload photos to my archive?
From your Mission Archive header — or the Add Content page — click Upload Photos. Pick the files, choose the date the batch belongs to, and click upload. Photos appear in the archive as their own row at the date you picked, alongside emails, PDFs, and social posts. You can rotate or reorder photos and edit titles afterward from the per-upload photo-group page.
Can you import my missionary's photos from Google Photos automatically?
No — Google retired the ability for apps like ours to read a Google Photos library in March 2025, so an automatic pull is no longer possible. The fastest route is Google Takeout plus Bulk upload: (1) go to Google Takeout, click Deselect all, scroll down and tick Google Photos, then click Next step and follow the prompts to download the export; (2) unzip it on your computer; (3) open Upload Photos → Bulk upload, pick the photos (up to 300 per batch), and upload. Bulk upload reads each photo's date taken and sorts them into one photo group per day on your Mission Archive; a photo missing that data falls back to its file date and is flagged in the review step so you can check it. Easiest done once at the end of the mission.
If I upload photos to the same date twice, do they merge into one row?
No — each upload becomes its own row. Upload companion photos in the morning and senior-couple photos in the afternoon, both on the same date, and they show as two separate rows. That lets you give each its own descriptive title — a chapter header in your Memory Book — instead of mashing unrelated photos together.
How do I upload PDFs to my archive?
From your Mission Archive header — or the Add Content page — click Upload Files. Drag in (or pick) the PDF files, choose the date, and upload. Each PDF gets its own row in the archive — useful for mission newsletters, transfer notices, conference assignments, scanned handwritten or mailed letters, and other mission documents. Edit the title on the per-file PDF page anytime; to move a PDF earlier or later in your Memory Book, change its date (there's no drag-to-reorder for PDFs).
Can I rotate or reorder photos after uploading?
Yes. Open the per-day photo group from the Mission Archive (click a photo row's title), then use the rotate-right button on any photo to spin it 90° clockwise, and the ▲/▼ buttons to reorder photos within the day. The original upload is preserved untouched — rotations are saved separately so the original is always recoverable.
Can I reorder PDFs in my archive?
Each PDF is its own row on the Mission Archive, positioned by the date you give it — and that date is what sets its place in your Memory Book. There's no drag-to-reorder for PDFs; to move one earlier or later, open it from the archive and change its date. (Photos within a photo group still reorder with the ▲/▼ buttons.)
Can I edit titles on uploaded photos or PDFs?
Yes. Each photo-group page and each per-PDF page lets you click the title to edit it inline. Titles become chapter headers in your Memory Book, so descriptive titles ("Transfer day with Elder Garcia," "Zone newsletter — November") help your book read like a story.
Can I download all my photos as a ZIP?
Yes. Each photo-group page has a Download button that packages every photo in that group as a ZIP. A social post's page has a Download button too: its words and photos come as a ZIP, or as the one file when there's only one. Each individual PDF can be downloaded from its own page (PDFs are one-per-row, no bundled ZIP). For broadcasts that came with attachments, the per-broadcast page (
/email-group) downloads as a ZIP of the broadcast PDF plus the attachments folder. What is Surprise mode?
Setting up as a surprise? The "DO NOT inform my missionary. This is a surprise." box is checked by default — leave it checked and we won't contact your missionary at all. (Uncheck it to email them their archive setup right away.) When you're ready to reveal it, go to your Account page and use the link to send their invitation — they'll get a welcome email with their own login, and the account switches out of surprise mode. Note: surprise mode isn't available with Pro Email List — the missionary receives their broadcast address at signup.
Managing List Members
List members are part of the Pro Email List. Plans without Pro Email List skip this section.
How many list members can I have?
Each missionary list supports up to 1,000 list members. If you need more, contact us through the Support page.
Can list members leave the list on their own?
Yes. Every broadcast email includes a leave link at the bottom, and most mail clients (Gmail, Outlook, Apple Mail) also show a built-in Unsubscribe link or button next to the sender. Clicking either one removes the list member immediately and they won't receive future broadcasts.
How do I remove a list member manually?
Go to the Email List page, find the list member — on longer lists a search box helps you jump straight to them — and click Remove. The change takes effect immediately.
Can I re-add someone who left the list?
You can add them back manually from the Email List page, but only do so if they've asked to be re-added. Re-adding someone who left the list without their permission goes against email best practices and our Terms of Service.
Will list members be notified when I add them?
Only if you choose to. When adding list members manually, there's a toggle to send or skip the welcome email. List members who sign up via your join link always receive a welcome message automatically.
What happens if a list member's email bounces or they mark a broadcast as spam?
We remove them automatically and send you a heads-up email so you know who was removed and why. Hard bounces (permanently undeliverable addresses) and spam reports both trigger immediate removal. There's nothing you need to do — the list cleans itself out, which keeps your sender reputation healthy and your future broadcasts landing in inboxes.
Multiple Missionaries
Can I manage more than one missionary from a single account?
Yes. Add more missionaries from the Add Missionary page under your Account. Each gets their own Mission Archive (and broadcast address, with Pro Email List) — all completely separate. Each missionary's products are picked independently — Pro Email List ($29), Digital ($49), Hardcover ($99), or any combination (both books together save $20). You can mix products across missionaries on the same account.
How do I add a missionary to my account?
Go to Account → Add Missionary, enter the missionary's name and @missionary.org email address, pick any combination of Pro Email List ($29), Digital Memory Book ($49), and Hardcover Memory Book ($99) — both books together save $20 — and pay. After signup, the new list is active immediately and — unless you chose Surprise mode — the missionary receives a welcome email with their archive addresses and an invite to log in. You're also automatically added to the new list as the first list member (with Pro Email List).
How do I switch between missionaries?
Use the My Missionaries page to select which missionary you want to work with. Once selected, all pages — Dashboard, Email List, Mission Archive — reflect that missionary's list. If you have multiple missionaries, a switcher also appears in the navigation bar for quick access.
Are member lists shared between missionaries?
No. Each missionary has a fully independent member list. Someone on one missionary's list won't automatically receive emails from another. They'd need to join each list separately.
Can the same person join more than one of my missionaries' lists?
Yes — a list member's email address can appear on multiple lists. Each list is independent, so they'll receive broadcasts from each missionary they've joined, and can leave each one separately.
Does each missionary get a different broadcast address?
Yes. Each missionary list has its own unique broadcast address. Make sure your missionary has the right one — it's always shown on the Email List page when that missionary is selected.
Senior Couples
How do senior couples work?
Senior couples serving together share one list. On your Account page, check This is a senior couple and add the second missionary's @missionary.org address — both are then approved to send, so with Pro Email List either spouse can email the one broadcast address. Same plan pricing applies — a senior couple's list is treated like any other list, with no separate payment for the second missionary.
Missionary Login Access
Can my missionary log into the account directly?
Yes. You can invite your missionary to access the account with their own login. Once they accept, they can log in and manage their own list independently — without needing to go through you.
How do I invite my missionary to log in?
Go to the Account page with that missionary selected and use the Invite option. They'll receive an email with a link to set up their own password and log in.
What can my missionary do once they're logged in?
A missionary with their own login can view their broadcast address, check mission archive, manage their member list, and use the Share page to invite others — everything needed to run their own list. Account-level settings remain with you as the account owner.
Does my missionary need to create a separate account?
No. When you invite a missionary, they are added to your existing account — not a new one. They log in with their own email and password but see only their own missionary list.
What if my missionary didn't receive their invitation email?
Go to the Account page and resend the invitation. Also ask them to check their spam or junk folder, and make sure the email address on file is correct.
Billing & Refunds
How much does each missionary list cost?
Pick products per missionary, in any combination: Pro Email List ($29 one-time) is the managed broadcast list, Digital Memory Book ($49 one-time) delivers a personalized PDF of the whole mission, and Hardcover Memory Book ($99 one-time) adds a printed hardcover (one volume, one copy, up to 700 pages) shipped to you when the mission ends — both books together save $20. Every product includes the Mission Archive. Every payment is one-time and covers the life of the list (up to 3.5 years). Add another missionary later and you choose its products independently.
What's the difference between the Digital and Hardcover plans?
Both include the same Mission Archive — the Save-to-Archive address, Upload Photos, Upload Files, Import Social Posts — plus a personalized Memory Book at the end of the mission. The difference is the keepsake: Digital ($49) is a downloadable PDF, and Hardcover ($99) is a printed hardcover (up to 700 pages) shipped to you, with no separate PDF. Want both? Get the Digital and Hardcover books together and save $20.
What does Pro Email List do?
Pro Email List ($29 one-time — on its own, or alongside a Memory Book) adds the managed broadcast list (up to 1,000 members, with automatic bounce handling and unsubscribes), the Share page (join link, QR code, Story image, printable flyer), a unique broadcast address, and approved senders. Every broadcast is saved to your archive as a downloadable PDF (a ZIP when there are attachments). Add it at signup or anytime from your Account page.
What's included in the Mission Archive?
Every product gives you the Mission Archive. You get a Save-to-Archive address for saving emails, and Upload Photos and Upload Files pages for everything else. It all lands in one timeline — original sender, date, and subject preserved — and bundles into your personalized Memory Book at the end of the mission.
What is the Memory Book?
Included with the Digital and Hardcover Memory Books. When the mission ends, everything in your Mission Archive — emails, photos, PDFs, social posts, and broadcasts — is bundled into a beautifully formatted keepsake with a personalized cover and message page. Digital ($49) delivers a PDF; Hardcover ($99) delivers a printed hardcover (up to 700 pages) shipped to you. The whole journey in one place, ready to keep forever.
Can I order a Hardcover Book?
Yes. The Hardcover Memory Book gathers every email, photo, file, and social post your missionary sent home into one professionally printed hardcover (up to 700 pages per volume) with a personalized cover. Choose everything on the Book → Type & Size page: the classic 6 × 9 (US Trade) or larger 7.44 × 9.68 (Crown Quarto) size, in Standard — $99 (6 × 9) or $114 (7.44 × 9.68) per book, great text on uncoated paper — or Premium — $229 or $259 per book, heavier coated paper for sharp, vivid photos, plus real linen wrap, gold-foil spine, and a printed dust jacket at 6 × 9. On the Hardcover plan, your $99 credit covers the first volume of your included book: Standard 6 × 9 is fully covered, and the card badges show exactly what any upgrade adds (+$15 to +$160). Extra volumes and extra copies bill at the full per-book price. Most books arrive 2–3 weeks after you approve your proof. Learn more about Missionary Hardcover Books →
Can I order a Photo Book?
Yes. The Photo Book is a separate keepsake built around the photos your missionary sent home — every image in a beautifully formatted hardcover album at our larger 7 × 10 Executive size, where photos render bigger. It is photos only — no emails or letter text (those live in the Memory Book). Pick it on the Book → Type & Size page in Standard ($124 per book) or Premium ($249 per book), which prints on heavier coated paper for the richest color. On the Hardcover plan your $99 credit applies to your included book — a Standard Photo Book is +$25 (Premium +$150). A Digital Photo Book is also available on the same page ($49, or at no extra cost as your included Digital Book). Most books arrive 2–3 weeks after you approve your proof. Learn more about Missionary Photo Books →
How fast will my printed book arrive, and can I choose a shipping speed?
Most printed books — the Hardcover Memory Book and the Photo Book — arrive 2–3 weeks after you approve your proof, with free standard shipping: 3–8 business days of printing, then 5–8 business days in transit. On U.S. orders you can upgrade to Priority Mail (+$30, ~5 business days in transit, tracked) or Express (+$50, ~1–2 business days, tracked); orders with more than one book add a little per extra book (+$5 Priority / +$10 Express each). International orders ship standard for an added cost. Shipping speed covers only transit — production time is separate.
How does ordering a printed book work?
Printed books start with a free proof — nothing is charged until you approve it. On the Book → Order page, click Estimate pages & volumes to see your page count, how it splits into volumes (over ~700 pages splits into multiple volumes, each at extra cost), and your exact flat price up front — no renders, no charges. When it looks right, click Generate Proof; we render the whole book and email you a link to review every page, interior and cover, typically within 2–5 hours. The proof carries a light diagonal PROOF watermark; your printed book is clean. If anything's off, choose Don't accept this proof to discard it, make your changes, and Generate new proof — as many times as you need. When it's right, approve it, enter your shipping address, and pay, and the book goes to print. You only pay once, after seeing exactly what you're getting. (Only one proof renders at a time per book.)
How do I generate my Digital Memory Book?
Your Digital Memory Book runs the same free proof flow as a printed book — without the shipping and print steps. (On the Book → Type & Size page you can also switch your digital book between the full Memory Book and a photos-only Photo Book.) On the Book → Order page, click Generate Proof; we render your whole book and email you a link to review every page, cover and interior, carrying the light PROOF watermark — typically within 2–5 hours. When it looks right, get the final watermark-free PDF — free if the Digital Memory Book is included with your plan, or $49 as an add-on on another plan — and download it right from the page. Generating the final book (like placing a paid print order) closes your 30-day refund window, so finish adding content first.
Will I be charged tax on a printed book?
On orders shipping outside the U.S., your destination country's tax may apply — it's calculated automatically and shown in your total at checkout, before you pay, so there are no surprises. Your shipping cost and any tax both appear in the price breakdown at the payment step.
Can I personalize the printed book cover?
Yes. Before you order, the Book → Cover page lets you choose which details appear on the front — missionary name, mission area(s), and mission dates, each with its own on/off toggle — plus the spine text (which reads THE MISSION OF followed by the missionary's name by default). The back cover prints the My Mission Letters logo by default; uncheck Print the My Mission Letters logo to add your own line of back-cover text instead, or leave it blank. Set the cover color and the lettering color independently — each from a set of presets, or pick any custom color you like — and use the placement slider to move the lettering higher or lower on the front. Prefer a photo? Choose a Photo Cover instead: upload your own image for the front, with an adjustable shaded box behind the title so the text stays readable, and set the spine and back to any solid color. Book type, trim size, and the Premium upgrade are chosen on the Book → Type & Size page: Premium at the 6 × 9 trade size wraps the book in real linen cloth in the color you pick, with a foil-stamped spine and a printed dust jacket; at the larger 7.44 × 9.68 size, Premium is an upgraded printed case-wrap cover instead. The Digital Memory Book uses the same personalized cover.
Can I add a personal message, title page, and documents to the book?
Yes. The Book → Title Pages page builds the front matter of your Memory Book, with a tab for each page: Title Page — the missionary's name, mission(s), mission dates, optional language(s), and an optional headshot; Personal Message — a note from you to your missionary, with a greeting and sign-off (or leave it blank to write the page by hand); and document tabs for the Mission Call letter, up to three Mission Area Maps, the Priesthood Line of Authority, and up to three Other PDFs of your choice. Checkboxes at the top choose which pages make the book (the Title Page and Table of Contents are always included). Each document has an optional toggle that stamps a title onto its first page — a fixed label for the named documents, or a title you type for the Other slots. Everything you add is included in both the digital and printed Memory Book.
Does my Memory Book include a table of contents?
Yes — every Memory Book automatically includes a Contents page in the front matter, right after the title page. It lists each month of the mission (along with any front-matter documents you added, like the Mission Call letter and area maps) with the page it starts on, so anyone can jump straight to a period. It appears in both the Digital PDF and the printed Hardcover, and there's nothing to set up — it's generated for you. (Photo Books, which have no month-by-month text, don't include one.)
Can I control what goes in the book and how the text looks?
Yes — the Book Settings page collects the book's content and formatting options. You can standardize the body-text font, size, and line spacing so a book stitched together from many email styles reads consistently (an advanced panel fine-tunes the font and size for body text, headings — email subject lines and photo captions — dates, the From/To/Cc recipient lines, and page numbers). On a Pro Email List you can remove the broadcast footer — the "reply / mailing address / join / leave" lines auto-appended to broadcasts — from the printed pages. In a Memory Book you can also pick the email header style at the top of each letter, Gmail style (the default) or Outlook style, and hide the To or Cc lines, or just MyMissionLetters' own addresses, from those headers. And for a Photo Book, toggles let you choose which image sources to include (inline email photos, attached photos, social-post images, uploaded PDFs) along with captions, titles, and date headers.
What payment methods do you accept?
All major credit and debit cards through Stripe, plus Apple Pay and Google Pay on supported devices and browsers. Card details are entered directly into Stripe's secure form — your card number never passes through MyMissionLetters' servers. Some cards prompt for a quick 3D Secure step from your bank, which is handled automatically before the payment completes.
Can I use a promo or discount code?
Yes. If you have a promotional code, enter it in the Have a promotional code? field on the sign-up form and the discount comes off your sign-up total before you pay. Codes apply once, at sign-up — they don't affect later book orders or add-ons.
Where can I find a receipt for my payment?
After your payment is processed, MyMissionLetters emails you a confirmation with the amount and missionary name to the address on your account — that serves as your receipt. Printed and digital book orders get their own emailed receipt as well. If you can't find it, check your spam folder, or contact us through the Support page and we'll resend it.
Where do I track my printed book order?
Once you've placed a paid print order, an Orders link appears in the top navigation. Open it to see each order's current status — in production, shipped, or delivered — along with any tracking number for the books in it. We also email you as the status changes, so you'll know when your book ships.
Can I get a refund if I change my mind?
Yes — within 30 days of payment, as long as you haven't generated your Digital Memory Book or placed a paid print order yet (the free print proof doesn't count). Go to Account → Cancel a Missionary List, choose the list, and submit a request (add a reason if you like). Support reviews it, usually within one business day; your list stays active until it's approved, and you can withdraw anytime. Once approved, the refund goes to your original payment method and typically lands in 5–10 business days. Refunds cover every payment still inside its own 30-day window — so a plan plus a later Pro Email List, both within 30 days, refund together.
What happens to my list when I cancel?
Cancellation is a request that support reviews — your list stays fully active while it's pending. Once approved, the list is deactivated: broadcasts stop, the join link stops accepting new list members, the refund is issued, and the list and its mission archive are no longer accessible from your account. If you want to start over later, you can sign up a new list.
I have multiple missionaries. Can I cancel just one missionary list?
Yes. The Cancel a Missionary List page submits a cancellation request for the missionary list you're currently viewing — your other missionary lists are unaffected. To cancel a different list, switch to that missionary first, then go to Cancel a Missionary List. Each list has its own 30-day refund window from its own payment date.
Account & Settings
Can I change the email address I use to log in?
Yes, from the Account page. You'll need to confirm the new address before the change takes effect — until you confirm, your old address keeps working.
My missionary's @missionary.org address changed. How do I update it?
Go to the Account page with that missionary selected and update their email address. The broadcast address updates automatically to match, and emails from the new address will be approved immediately. Make sure your missionary starts sending from the new address right away.
How do I update my missionary's name or other details?
Go to the Account page with the relevant missionary selected and update their information there.
How do I change the time zone for my mission archive?
Go to your Account page and update the Display time zone setting. This controls how sent times are displayed in Mission Archive and on the digital/printed books for the currently selected missionary.
How do I reset my password?
From the Account page, use the Reset Password link. You'll receive an email with instructions to set a new password.
How do I delete my account?
From the Account page, scroll to the bottom and use the Delete Account option. This permanently removes your account, all missionary lists, all member lists, and all mission archive. This action cannot be undone. Note: deleting your account does not refund any prior payments — for a refund within 30 days of payment, use Cancel a Missionary List instead.
Troubleshooting
My missionary sent an email but list members didn't receive it. What happened?
Start at Mission Archive. If the broadcast is listed there, it was received — check the status to see whether delivery succeeded or failed. If it's not listed at all, the email likely never reached the broadcast address. The most common causes: sending from an address that isn't approved, or sending to the wrong broadcast address. Confirm your missionary is using the exact address shown on your Email List page.
The broadcast shows as sent but some list members say they didn't receive it.
The email was delivered to all active list members at the time of sending. Ask them to check their Promotions or Spam folder. The best long-term fix is to encourage list members to add broadcast@mymissionletters.com to their contacts or safe senders list — this prevents most filtering issues going forward.
I'm not receiving broadcasts at my own email address.
Your account email is added as the first list member when you sign up (and again whenever you add a new missionary). Check that it's still on the list on the Email List page. If it was removed, you can add it back manually.
A banner says my list isn't active yet because its signup payment was never completed. What do I do?
That banner means signup was started but the payment step never finished, so the list is read-only. Nothing is lost — click Finish setting up → in the banner to return to checkout with everything pre-filled, complete the payment, and the list activates on the spot. If you've decided against the list, just leave it as is — a payment that never completed is never charged.
I got an email saying "We're still working on your email" or "Archive unavailable" — what does that mean?
These are status notes from the archiving system, separate from broadcast delivery:
- "We're still working on your email" — we hit a snag saving the archived copy and are retrying. The broadcast itself reached your list; only the archived copy is delayed, and most recover within minutes. You'll get a follow-up once it's ready.
- "Archive unavailable" — we exhausted retries and couldn't save the archive. The broadcast still reached your list, but no downloadable copy is available. Contact Support if you'd like to recover it from the sender's mail history.
Why are some images broken in my archived PDF?
Live broadcasts show images straight from their original source (say, a photo hosted on a third-party server and linked in the email). When we build the downloadable PDF, we re-fetch each image to embed it — and if that source is unreachable or has removed the image, a placeholder is left in its place. Recipients' inbox copies are unaffected, and photos sent as attachments are always preserved in the PDF/ZIP. Need an image recovered? Contact Support.
I still have questions. How do I get help?
